“You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward … just take the next step” – Unknown

You began your year by setting your 2020 goals and you were exciting to start smashing them. Then life happens. You hit a bump in the road and just like that you’re thrown off course. But don’t give up just yet. Stay on target by being clear of what your goals are, be accountable and keep yourself motivated.
Here are some things you can do to help get you back on track and on your way to smashing those goals!
1. Revisit Your Goals
Do the goals you’ve set for yourself still align with your overall vision and personal values? Be honest with yourself about what’s not working. It’s not a failure, it’s an opportunity to reassess and try a different approach.
2. Focus On One Goal At A Time
There may be so much you want to achieve that your goals list is a long one. It’s great to have goals but sometimes we can overwhelm ourselves by setting too many at once. Take another look at your list, pick one major goal and work towards it. Break that goal down into smaller, more manageable chunks and you’ll find yourself easily speeding towards the finish line.
3. Track Your Progress
Attainable goals are the ones that you can measure as you progress towards them. If you can’t measure your progress, then how do you know if you’re even going to achieve that goal? Set yourself milestones and check in with yourself regularly to make sure you’re still headed in the right direction.
4. Learn From Your Setbacks
We all encounter obstacles while trying to achieve our goals. If you’re prepared for them then you’ll be able to move past them quickly. The important thing to remember is a setback doesn’t mean you’ve failed, it just gives you a chance to learn and grow.
Whether you’ve hit a bump in the road, or you are still on track, it’s always a great idea to check in with yourself regularly to make sure your goals still align with your personal vision. If a goal isn’t working for you, don’t spend valuable time or energy forcing yourself to keep going. Let it go and move on to the next one. And remember …. YOU'VE GOT THIS!!
